How we work

Independent, small, and on your side of the table.

Three things explain everything else about how we operate.

01 · Neutrality

We don't sell anything except judgement.

No hardware. No airtime. No integrator margin, referral fee or "partner" status with any vendor. The fee comes from the owner and only from the owner. That's not a policy statement — it's the product. It's the only reason you can trust the comparison when we tell you three switch quotes are inflated and the fourth specifies 40% more ports than the vessel will ever use.

Integrators are good at building things. They are structurally unable to tell you that you're buying too much of them.

02 · The team

A small group of working practitioners.

We are maritime IT people who still do the work — on newbuilds, on refits, on vessels at sea. Teams are assembled per engagement from people who've done that specific kind of job before. That's how a boutique handles a cruise-ship build and a 30-metre handover in the same month without carrying either as overhead.

You'll deal with one named lead for the whole engagement.

03 · Commercials

Fixed scope, or a retainer. Nothing hidden in the hardware.

Reviews and handovers are quoted as fixed-scope work with a defined deliverable. Builds and refits are scoped in phases. Fleets go on a monthly retainer. In every case the invoice is for our time and nothing else, so there's no incentive to make the project bigger than it should be.

If a job isn't one we should do, we'll say so in the first conversation.

Scope

Vessels

Yachts, expedition and small cruise ships, commercial tonnage. Size-agnostic — the problems are the same, the number of zeros differs.

Systems

Networks, wireless, firewalls, servers and virtualisation, connectivity, OT/IT boundaries, cyber compliance, remote access, backup.

Roles

Owner's representative, IT superintendent, fractional fleet IT manager, independent reviewer.

Not us

Installation crews, equipment supply, airtime resale. We'll specify and oversee it; someone else will pull the cable.
